The links below are mp3 recordings of me playing guitar. Nothing fancy, just me playing a few tunes I like to play.

Alone Again. This song was written and performed by Dokken, one of my favorite metal bands back in the 80s. I know I am dating myself but hey we all had to be young sometime.

Bonjovi. This adapted version of Dead or alive was written to fit the 12 string guitar I had a long time ago. It had a bowed neck so playing it up on the 12 and 14 frets was just not possible. I prefer the actual version but this one is close enough to recognize.

El Dorado. This is an original composition I wrote one night while playing guitar to my kids. I was sliding an E Chord around and thought the effect was nice for a Flamenco guitar. Leave it to me to put a riff in there I can't seem to hit clearly after sliding around so much.

Lullaby. This is a song I play often to get my kids to fall asleep.

Metallica. This song took me forever to learn! I still don't know the lead all that well since I stay on acoustic so much. I heard it played by a 17 year old kid once at a camp, and gained an appreciation for it ever since.

Now and Forever  My Brother played this once and I immediately started writing down the chords. It has a feel that is very unique when you play it, the chord changes are almost constant but you don't notice at all. I wish I could figure out how to play the lead and rhythm at the same time.

Once in a lifetime. This is an original song written during a very tough time in my life.

Rain: I was sitting on my porch playing one evening and a storm came in. I was about to get up so my gear wouldn't get wet but changed my mind. I didn't think about writing a song, I just let the chords sort of come out as I thought about someone special who was far away.

Russia1985. I wrote this when I was 20 and living in a military dorm. Back then Russia was still the enemy but I had a fascination with it just the same. Years later I was able to go there and discover how amazing the country and it's people truly are.

Sorry Seems to Be: I heard this song as a remake while on vacation in Moscow. It really struck me as I wasn't hearing a lot of English music there and I decided to try and adapt it to guitar. Elton John is one impressive composer there is a lot going on in this song mechanically and it takes a lot of movement. It needs more work but here it is so far.

Ode to Staind. This band is awesome, I put a few of their popular songs together just to pay a little tribute.

While You Pass By: 7 years ago I was working on an idea for a story where a man walks down the street and makes eye contact with a woman. As they pass in the crowd, he sees his entire life with her flash by. He realizes how amazing it all was and turns to see her walk away. She looks back also, perhaps seeing the same things he did. But then they disappear in the crowd and never see each other again. All this in a moment of time as two people pass each other by. I never finished the story but this song came out of the time I spent exploring the idea.

Why. This is a religious song written by a guy named Michael Card. Mike has the ability to tell an entire book of the Bible in one song. I always admired his talent and this is my favorite song by him.
